I just returned from Bowl Expo 2007. As IBPSIA President, I sure had a lot to do and a lot of places to be. I got to introduce the folks from Ebonite, Columbia, Storm, and Brunswick who sponsored some of our events. I did some pinch hitting helping Richard Shockley do a presentation on the differences between coaching men and women (and are there ever some)!

I was asked to be a part of the Champagne Breakfast Industry Leaders Forum. We all sat in chairs on a dais and in a Meet the Press style format, were asked questions by a panel of journalists. Then the audience was allowed to ask questions. So, here's the lineup. Roger Dalkin ('nuff said), Joe Schumacker (President of the BPAA), Fred Schreyer (Commisioner of the PBA), Warren Hardie (big cheese at Brunswick), Matt Petcoff, (CEO of Northpointe Insurance, the insurance of proprietors), me (President of IBPSIA), John Overbaugh (Director of MWR for the Air Force), and Pat Cinello (big cheese of Qubica/AMF). Talk about some players!

My duties as the new president of IBPSIA have been surprisingly detailed oriented and time consuming. It's a very exciting time to be involved with such a growing and dynamic trade organization. If you have a Pro Shop or are an instructor, you should look into membership. The benefits are really strong with the best merchant processing available (I switched and I'm glad I did!) and deep discounts at Sherwin-Williams, Grainger, and Office Depot, places you use all the time. I do clinics all over the country on all types of bowling subjects. 

"Spare Necessities" is a clinic on (what else?) spare shooting.

"Whoever Finds it First Wins" is a clinic on getting lined up faster.

"It's More Fun If You Do It On Purpose" is the clinic on the basic fundamentals of bowling.

"The Art of Lane Play" is an all day seminar on lanes and patterns which usually includes an afternoon of playing on some very tough conditions.

"I Can't Believe I Get Paid For This!" is a clinic I do for coaches. It includes marketing ideas to help you either do it for a living or make a big difference supplementing your income. It is great fun!

I am developing a clinic on mental toughness. We sometimes forget that although we can't think them down, thinking can surely stop us from physically getting the job done!
